Tractian, an industrial AI company founded by Brazilians in 2019 and now headquartered in Atlanta, has raised US$ 130 million in a Series D round at a post-money valuation of US$ 1.4 billion, double the level of its last round two years ago, Brazil Journal reports. Sapphire Ventures and Catalyst led the round. Brazil Journal says Tractian is now the largest AI company in Latin America by valuation.

The company combines sensors and AI models to prevent failures in industrial machinery and serves more than 2,000 factories, with annual recurring revenue close to US$ 100 million. The funds will go to research and development, sensors for factory robots, and sales and marketing, including a push into AI data centers. Tractian is targeting about US$ 500 million in recurring revenue in three to five years and a US IPO.

Why it mattersThe round puts a company founded by Brazilians at the top of Latin America's AI valuations, according to Brazil Journal.
