Brazil's sales to the European Union rose US$ 6.4 billion after the Mercosur agreement, according to Apex, the country's trade and investment promotion agency, Folha de S.Paulo reports.

Exports to the bloc reached US$ 44.2 billion from January to September, up 20%. Excluding commodities, sales still rose 13%, Apex said.

Why it mattersFor European companies, the agreement is already showing up in trade figures, which makes Brazil easier to consider as a partner.
