Rules approved by the Central Bank in October let customers block credit offers and require specific consent from vulnerable customers.

Lenders must also offer a panel to check debts, and credit offered during Pix payments will need prior consent. The rules take effect on March 31 and July 1, 2027.

Why it mattersFintechs and banks operating in Brazil need to review how they offer credit before these dates.
