The Central Bank's monetary policy committee kept the Selic rate at 13.75% a year, ending a run of five consecutive cuts, Remessa Online reports.

The committee did not signal its next steps. The minutes are due on November 10, and the next meeting is on December 8 and 9.

Why it mattersThe Selic sets the base cost of money in Brazil, so it matters for any company planning to borrow or invest there.
